Laboratory syringes designed to inject samples in the injection ports of high-pressure liquid chromatography (HPLC) systems. These devices typically consist in gas-/liquid-tight syringes and frequently include reinforced plungers (e.g., made of stainless steel) and with tips (e.g., Luer lock) that allow high-pressure injection (e.g., up to 200 to 500 pounds per square inch) of liquids. HPLC syringes are available to inject the samples in a specific injection port, such as the split/splitless or the packed-column injection port; some syringes are manufactured for use only in devices of a particular model or from a specific manufacturer.
