  • Sets of tubing and auxiliary devices designed to connect a bag of dialysis solution to the proximal end of a catheter, whose distal tip is located in a patient\'s abdomen, to perform ambulatory peritoneal dialysis. These sets typically consist of tubing, connectors, and a cap; some sets require a new cap each time the set is disconnected from the bag after an exchange. Typically, at the beginning of an exchange, the disposable cap is removed from the transfer set and the set is connected to a Y-tube; the branches of the Y-tube connect to the drain bag and the bag of fresh dialysis solution.
