  • Blood-collection and centrifugation tubes designed to remove fibrin from the serum portion of blood samples. These devices typically are glass or more frequently shatter-resistant plastic tubes that have filtering capabilities, such as special granules or gels applied to the internal walls to provide a barrier that separates fibrin and other particulates from the serum.
