Metallic tubing made of stainless steel alloy to provide corrosion-resistance capabilities. This tubing is typically a hollow, rigid, semirigid, or flexible cylinder designed for the transfer of materials, either liquids or gases, with high corrosion resistant capabilities. Stainless steel tubing is usually available in standardized lengths and in a variety of diameters and wall thicknesses (i.e., gauges) that permit the use of segments of different sizes appropriate for a given application in the healthcare facility; stainless steel is also used directly or as reinforcement for other tubing to deliver fluids at high pressures.
