  • Gold vapor lasers that generate and deliver their energy to the surface of previously photosensitized tissues. The combined effect of light, sensitizers, and tissue oxygen destroy tissue by a phototoxic effect (photodynamic therapy). These lasers usually consist of gold vapor laser generator and microlens or isotropic (spherical or cylindrical) applicators adapted to the absorption of the sensitizer.
