A tumor-associated antigen. Vaccination with survivin antigen may result in a cytotoxic T-cell response against survivin antigen-expressing tumor cells, resulting in decreased tumor cell proliferation and tumor cell death. Overexpressed in many tumors, endogenous survivin inhibits tumor cell apoptosis. Check for \'https://www.cancer.gov/about-cancer/treatment/clinical-trials/intervention/C37449\' active clinical trials using this agent.
