Freestanding stationary modular medical facilities that contain the equipment and supplies needed to function as an integrated unit for performing cardiac catheterization procedures (i.e., invasive medical procedures as a diagnostic or therapeutic tool for heart and circulatory conditions). These facilities are typically divided into a patient treatment area and a control room, including the operator console, and could also include a room for auxiliary equipment (e.g., electric generator, air-conditioning unit). Equipment in these facilities typically includes a cardiovascular radiographic/fluoroscopic system, a power injector for introducing contrast medium into the patient at high flow rates, physiologic monitoring equipment, and additional equipment to manage cardiovascular emergencies.
