  • Ho:YAG lasers designed to deliver their energy into the vessels to eliminate areas of narrowing (i.e., angioplasty). These lasers consist of a pulsed Ho:YAG laser generator and a delivery system including optical fibers and a catheter, that emits laser-energy from its distal tip. Angioplasty Ho:YAG lasers are mostly used in laser assisted angioplasty of totally occluded coronary arteries, especially in the presence of thrombus; some are also used in the treatment of total occlusions in the peripheral vessels.
