Radiographic/tomographic systems in which the film and the x-ray tube are moved in parallel, straight lines in opposite directions. In most of these systems, the tube rotates so that the central axis of the beam is directed through the axis of rotation throughout the exposure (planigraphy); in some other systems, the x-ray tube is moved in an arc and the film is moved in a straight line (simplified Grossman system).
