Air-supplying respirators designed to prevent the wearer from inhaling airborne particles, gases, and/or vapors from the environment by supplying air from a stationary source of compressed air. These respirators usually include a mask and a long hose that should be connected to a nonportable, high-capacity compressed air source. Stationary source respirators limit the range of mobility of the user, they are intended for use for extended periods in an environment that is potentially but not immediately dangerous to life or health (e.g., in the neighborhood of hazardous chemical spills).
