Testers designed to measure, display, and/or record equipment air or other gas variables, such as flow rates, volumes, and positive or negative (i.e., vacuum) pressures in a wide range of values and with an accuracy that is much greater than the device under evaluation. These devices typically consist of several flow and volume meters, pressure and vacuum gauges, displays, various diameter inlets and outlets for gases, pressure regulators, and electronic circuitry; some also include pressure transducers and flow resistance elements. Pneumatic testers are used to check the gas supply system and the performance of pneumatic devices such anesthesia machines, ventilators, resuscitators, suction devices, laparoscopic insufflators, and evacuation pumps.
