Laboratory electrolyte analyzers that measure the electrolyte concentration using flame photometry techniques. The sample is aspirated into a flame, and the thermally excited atoms emit light of characteristic wavelengths, which are a measure of the amount of the element present. The concentration of electrolyte in a test solution is determined by comparing its intensity with that obtained from a standard solution and is usually displayed in millimole per liter (mmol/L).
