  • Esophageal stents manufactured from synthetic plastic materials, such as silicone or silastics. These devices may include anchors that project into the esophageal wall to prevent stent migration. Polymeric bronchial stents are used to treat strictures and/or lesions caused either by injuries or benign diseases; they are not appropriate for poorly dilatable strictures.
