Mammalian SWI/SNF complexes are ATP-dependent chromatin remodeling enzymes implicated in regulation of gene expression, cell cycle control, and oncogenesis. The SWI/SNF complex is thought to facilitate transcriptional activation of specific genes by antagonizing chromatin-mediated transcriptional repression.
