Combinations of leads and cables designed for connection between electrodes, which are placed on or in the body, and an electric or electronic device. These combined devices typically consist of flexible wires that are completely isolated except at the electrode end (known as patient leads) and an integral cable that is connected to the leads at one end and to the electric or electronic device at the other end. Cable/leads are used with a variety of healthcare equipment including recorders, monitors, and stimulators usually to detect bioelectric signals and/or to deliver electric energy to the body.
