Vascular surgical clamps designed for the atraumatic compression of veins or arteries during microsurgical procedures, usually to cause total or partial occlusion (i.e., coarctation). These clamps are typically small, handheld, manual, spring-actuated, centrally pivoted, snap-on instruments with straight or curved distal blades; they are usually used in procedures such as testicular implantation. Microsurgery vascular clamps are also used in the restoration of the vas deferens after vasectomy (i.e., vasovasostomy). Some clamps are used in pairs attached to a vice.
