Vascular surgical clamps designed for occlusion of the vena cava during surgical procedures, permitting blood flow through an indwelling cannula (or catheter). These clamps are typically manual, ring-handled instruments including two parts pivoted at the center with straight or curved serrated distal blades. The serrated region has a central rounded section that permits flow through the cannula while occluding the vein. Vena cava indwelling cannula clamps are mainly used during cardiopulmonary bypass procedures.
