Manual surgical saws designed to cut the structures of the middle ear, such as the ossicles. These saws are very small, handheld manual instruments (resembling a file) with a long, serrated distal end appropriate to cut the ossicles and an integrated handle. They are used in microsurgical procedures of the middle ear, especially to cut the leglike part (crus) of the stapes (i.e., crurotomy).
