Sizers designed to facilitate the selection of an appropriate size of and position for breast implants. These sizers typically consist of temporary implants attached to a tube; the surgeon can work inside the implant pocket and fill up to test placement, size, and fill levels. Once the appropriate size and position have been determined, the sizer is removed and replaced with the permanent implant; when inflatable implants are used, they are rolled up and pushed into the incision. Breast implant sizers are used in reconstructive and/or plastic surgery, frequently after mastectomy.
