Balance exercisers designed to improve the user\'s ability to maintain proper posture when walking or running by partially suspending the user. These exercisers usually consist of a suspension system; patient handrails that support the user in standing positions; walking slings for partially lifting and supporting the user, which are suspended by the hanger overhead; and attached locking casters that can be used to move the device from one place to another. These exercisers are battery-powered, although the weights to be offloaded may be manually adjusted; they are capable of lifting patients from wheelchairs and may also be used with a treadmill to allow users to exercise. Patient lifting balance exercisers are used in physical therapy and rehabilitation to improve balance, coordination; muscle strength, and muacle tone in the lower limbs.
