  • Gonioscopes designed for directly examining the angle of the anterior chamber of the eye using a mirrorless, plastic, cone-shaped contact lens (without light refracting from mirrors). Direct gonioscopes usually consist of a mirrorless contact lens through which the light projecting from the anterior chamber angle structures passes, a handheld microscope, and an illumination source to obtain a magnified image of the anterior chamber.
