  • Readers designed for automated, passive determination of a radiation dose absorbed by two or more individual thermoluminescence dosimeters (TLD) simultaneously. These readers typically include a heating system, a photomultiplier tube, electronic circuits, and dedicated software that may be used in the reader or on an associated computer that controls data acquisition, storage, retrieval, and the sequence of the measurement and assessment procedure. The results include dosimeter identification, date and timing, and reading parameters and possibly other information such as a graphic of the glow curve and the value of the test light.
