A clinical finding about one or more characteristics of carcinoma of the conjunctiva, following the rules of the TNM AJCC v7 classification system. The assessment of cancer is based on inspection, slit-lamp examination, and palpation of the regional lymph nodes. All conjunctival surfaces are inspected and photographed with eversion of the upper eyelid. High-frequency ultrasound (UBM) imaging should be performed when the tumor is found to be affixed to the globe and when intraocular invasion is suspected. Low-frequency ultrasound may also be used to evaluate the sclera, eye, and orbit. (from AJCC 7th Ed.)
