  • One-lung ventilation tracheal tubes consisting of a single-lumen tube. Some single-lumen devices (e.g., Univent tube) include a movable bronchial blocker shaft inside the tube, a main cuff, and a bronchial balloon permitting selective blockade of one or more lobes of the lung; other single-lumen tubes include an inflatable balloon at the tip to block the lung, but they cannot be used for suction or ventilation of the blocked lung. Single-lumen one-lung ventilation tracheal tubes are used mainly during thoracic surgery and/or intensive care procedures; some devices can be used for postoperative ventilation, avoiding the need of tube change.
