Physiologic monitoring software designed to operate blood pressure monitors, control/monitor a limited number of their functions, and/or process data obtained while monitoring. This software is intended to work only with one or a few models of blood pressure monitors, usually from the same manufacturer. The software may perform a variety of algorithms to facilitate the operation and analysis of the measurements performed while monitoring blood pressure and/or while processing and/or transmitting/receiving patient information from workstations, and/or hospital information systems. Blood pressure monitoring software is not usually available separate from the monitor but may be updated (i.e., through the release of modified versions) during the lifeduring the life of the equipment; the software is mainly used by bedside and telemetric monitors, and/or physiologic monitoring systems. Dedicated software is available for non-invasive and invasive blood pressure monitoring (NIBP and IBP) respectively.
