Environmental monitoring software designed to operate ethylene oxide monitors, control/monitor a limited number of their functions, and/or process data obtained while monitoring. This software is intended to work only with one or a few models of ethylene oxide monitors, usually from the same manufacturer. The software may perform a variety of algorithms to facilitate the operation and analysis of the measurements performed while monitoring ethylene oxide (e.g., graphical display of concentration in a period of time, staff exposure) in enclosed environments and/or while processing and or transmitting/receiving information from hospital information systems. Ethylene oxide monitoring software is not usually available separate from the monitor but may be updated (i.e., through the release of modified versions) during the life of the equipment; the software is mainly used in closed environments located in healthcare facilities such as sterilization rooms and gas cylinder storage areas.
