  • Rectum tubes designed to deliver an injection of barium (i.e., enema) into the rectum, covering the lining of the rectum and colon. These devices typically consist of a single-lumen rubber or plastic (e.g., silicon) tube of 14 to 30 French diameter, about 10 cm (4 inches) long, with a small balloon at the end that is inflated to keep the barium inside; it is inserted through the anus into the rectum.
