Saw blades designed for use as the cutting component of a manually operated oscillating electric or pneumatic saw used to cut materials, objects, or anatomic structures. These devices typically consist of a detachable, toothed, circular or semicircular flat blade that is attached to a saw that includes a mechanism that oscillates at a very high speed perpendicular to the axis of the machine without full rotation. Oscillating electric/pneumatic blades are mainly used in orthopedic surgery (e.g., to cut bones) and postmortem procedures; dedicated blades are also available for saws used for cutting cast.
