Periodontal knives designed to cut tissues between contiguous teeth (i.e., interdental). These knives typically consist of handheld, manual instruments with a handle and a long, flat, and very thin integral cutting blade at the distal end. Some interdental knives have a pear-like cutting blade at the distal end. Interdental periodontal knives are used mainly during localized gum (i.e., gingival) procedures.
