Baskets designed for the temporary storage of devices and/or other products during a sterilization process. These baskets usually consist of a heavy-duty, interwoven, metal (typically stainless steel) structure, open at the top, capable of withstanding high temperature and humidity and/or chemical parameters that characterize many sterilization procedures. Sterilizing unit baskets are used to hold the items undergoing sterilization (e.g., surgical instruments) in appropriate conditions; they are usually attached to pull-out trays of units used in sterilizing processes performed in healthcare facilities. While most of these baskets are designed to contain generic devices, some are custom made for specific instruments and hold them in optimal positions to protect the instruments and facilitate sterilization.
