Test tubes designed for polymerase chain reaction (PCR) laboratory procedures. These test tubes are usually thin glass or plastic tubes with a pointed, conical bottom and an open top; they usually include an attached cap (i.e., flip-top cap) intended to minimize the risk of carry-over contamination. PCR test tubes are usually appropriate for use with thermal cyclers. The shape and characteristics of PCR test tubes, especially the thin wall for fast heat transfer, are intended to increase the efficiency of PCR procedures performed in clinical laboratories and/or other areas of medical facilities.
