Room environment humidifiers designed to add moisture and heat to the air flowing in the environment. These humidifiers typically include a water container, electric heaters, air filters, a fan, and temperature and air speed controls; they may introduce the moisture and heat either by forcing the incoming air through a heated reservoir of water or by passing the incoming gas over a wet and heated surface. Most humidifiers include sensors and controls to regulate the temperature and the humidity in the environment. Heated room humidifiers are usually available in three configurations, i.e., tabletop, mobile consoles, and in-duct installation.; they are used in healthcare facilities such as hospitals and nursing homes and also at home to help in the prevention of dryness in the airways and to increase comfort especially for babies, the elderly, and patients with serious illness.
