  • Equipment designed to collect (i.e., remove) dust and other debris from the environment created while performing procedures that produce a high concentration of air particles. These collectors typically consist of a stand-alone unit that includes filters that entrap particles one micron or less in diameter. A low-noise motor then provides suction of the polluted air or a connection to a vacuum source, a collection canister, and appropriate controls. Dedicated dust/debris collectors are available for particular procedures, including bone and related products cutting (e.g., orthopedic surgery, cast cutting, autopsies) and also for dental laboratories.
