Prepackaged collections of the devices and supplies (i.e., either custom or standard kits) needed for collecting a patient\'s urine over a long-term (typically 24-hour) period. Items in these kits may include polypropylene container, screw-on lid, identification (ID) label, towelettes, sterile gloves, specimen bag and anatomically correct funnel. The dedicated container used in these kits must be kept cool during the collecting time and until it is returned to the laboratory for analysis. The kits are frequently supplied in supporting trays (i.e., procedure trays) consisting of a flat-bottomed receptacle with a border around the periphery supporting all the instruments and supplies needed for the procedure; the trays are usually covered or wrapped. Long-term urine collection procedure kits and trays are intended for measuring the components of urine in order to assess kidney (renal) functions. They are mainly used in hospital clinical laboratories and also in other healthcare facilities.
