Hip lower-limb orthoses designed for external modification of the structural and/or functional characteristics the hip joint during therapeutic procedures. These orthoses consist of a variety of devices that assist the support and positioning the hip, the orthosis is usually worn by the patient. Hip lower-limb orthoses are frequently used to keep the hip joint in an appropriate position during rehabilitation after surgery, injuries, or disease. Dedicated hip static therapy orthoses used to prevent dislocation and to provide therapy for children with malformations are also available.
