Finger orthoses designed to provide immobilization and support to to the proximal inter-phalangeal joints of the fingers. They also support, supplement, and/or augment the functions and/or structure of these joints. These orthoses may consist of soft, semi-rigid, or rigid devices that are fixed to the hand and fingers, keeping the proximal inter-phalangeal joints immobilized or allowing only controlled motion. Dedicated proximal inter-phalangeal orthoses for immobilization after trauma, to provide static and/or dynamic therapy, and for use during normal function of the fingers are also available.
