Serology reagents intended to detect antibodies to echovirus (enterocytopathic human orphan virus) subtypes, a group of viruses of the genus Enterovirus, family Picornaviridae. Some particular subtypes of this virus (e.g., 4, 7, 11) may cause acute febrile illness in infants and young children; specific subtypes are associated with rashes, diarrhea, respiratory infections (e.g., sore throat, bronchitis), pericarditis, and/or aseptic meningitis.
