Serology reagents intended to detect antibodies to echovirus (enterocytopathic human orphan virus), a group of viruses of the genus Enterovirus, family Picornaviridae. These viruses may have a wide range of clinical presentations; echoviruses may cause acute febrile illness in infants and young children, they are also associated with rashes, diarrhea, respiratory infections (e.g., sore throat, bronchitis), pericarditis, and aseptic meningitis.
