Molecular assay reagents intended to identify species of Pseudomonas, a genus of bacteria of the family Pseudomonadaceae, by detecting specific genetic information of the deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) of the target bacteria. Some species of these bacteria are an etiologic agent of hospital-acquired (i.e., nosocomial) infections, mostly those occurring in the urinary tract and in wounds, especially in immunodepressed or debilitated patients.
