Molecular assay reagents intended to identify Anaplasma phagocytophilum (formerly Ehrlichia phagocytophilum), a bacterium of the genus Anaplasmataceae, family Rickettsiaceae, by detecting specific genetic information of the deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) of the target bacteria. These bacteria are an etiologic agent of granulocytic ehrlichiosis in humans (i.e., they attack the granulocytes, a type of white blood cell).
