Immunoassay reagents intended to perform quantitative analyses on a body fluid sample (typically whole blood) to measure levels of sirolimus (also known as rapamycin), an immunosuppressive agent that possesses both antifungal and antineoplastic properties, in the sample. These reagents are designed for the selective measurement of sirolimus (i.e., specific reagents), but cross-reactivity with sirolimus metabolites may occur. Reagents for sirolimus drug level measurement are used to monitor the drug levels in patients undergoing treatment to determine the adequacy of drug treatment or to diagnose a drug overdose or drug-related toxicity.
