  • Immunoassay reagents intended to perform qualitative and/or quantitative analyses on a body fluid sample (typically urine) to determine 17-ketosteroid sulfate (17-KS-S), a metabolite of dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA)-sulfate. Determination of DHEA metabolites in urine is used to assess the health status of patients (both physical and mental), especially under stress conditions. Most of these assays also include the simultaneous determination of the cortisol metabolite 17-hydroxycorticosteroid (17-OHCS); the ratio of 17-KS-S to 17-OHCS seems to be a good indicator of the health status.
