Reagents consisting of samples of substances with known values that resemble the unknown specimen; they are used for quality control of immunoassay tests performed for the determination of one or more of the group of hormones (e.g., insulin, C-peptide, glucogen) that modulate the regulation of the concentration of glucose in the blood. These reagents may be either specific for quality control of a diabetes test hormone or, more frequently, appropriate for control of a whole set of similar diabetes test hormones.
