Immunoassay reagents intended to perform qualitative and/or quantitative analyses on a body fluid sample (e.g., serum, urine) to determine a oligosaccharide variant of the glycoprotein hormone human chorionic gonadotropin (hGC) (i.e., hyperglycosilated hCG), also known as invasive trophoblast antigen (ITA). This test is specifically used to improve the determination of Down syndrome during the second trimester of pregnancy, either by itself or combined with other tests (e.g., serum alpha-fetoprotein levels).
