Immunoassay reagents intended to perform qualitative and/or quantitative analyses on a body fluid sample (e.g., serum, respiratory secretions) to determine the oncofetal squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) antigen, a glycoprotein secreted by neoplastic tumor cells (i.e., a tumor marker). Measurement of the SCC antigen level is used in the monitoring of treatment and progression of malignancy in several squamous cell carcinomas, such as lung, cervix, skin, neck, urogenital, and gastrointestinal; it is also used for prediction of recurrence.
