Hematology reagents intended to perform qualitative and/or quantitative analyses on a body fluid sample (typically blood) to determine the prothrombin fragment 1+2, a small inactive peptide resulting from the conversion of prothrombin to thrombin. Increased levels of prothrombin fragment 1+2 are used as a marker of thrombosis, in particular, disseminated intravascular coagulation.
