  • Serology reagents intended to detect antibodies to hepatitis D virus, an unclassified defective RNA virus (delta agent) that requires the presence of hepatitis B virus (HBV) for viral replication to occur. Hepatitis D virus may occur as a simultaneous acute hepatitis infection or may be superimposed on a case of chronic HBV.
