Serology reagents intended to detect antibody titers or antigens of species of Salmonella, a genus of motile bacteria with peritrichous flagella of the family Enterobacteriaceae. Salmonella bacteria that are pathologic to humans include S. typhi, the cause of typhoid fever, and S. choleraesuis, an etiologic agent of paratyphoid, gastroenteritis, and septicemia.
