Hematology reagents intended to perform qualitative and/or quantitative analyses of a sample of body fluids (typically plasma) for the simultaneous determination of several coagulation factors (e.g., II/V/VII/IX, VIII/IX/XI/XII). Most of these tests are based in the determination of prothrombin time using specific factor-deficient plasmas instead of a correction plasma or serum. Factor activity is determined by the amount of correction detected when patient plasma is added to the factor-deficient plasma.
