Microbiology reagents used to assess the susceptibility of bacteria to antibacterial agents (e.g., antibiotics). Most susceptibility tests are based on the determination of the inhibition of bacterial growth due to antibiotic-impregnated disks or in the determination of the minimum concentration of antibiotic at which there is no visible growth of the bacteria (minimum inhibitory concentration [MIC]) in a dilution. These reagents may be specific either for manual or automated procedures.
